Paul VanZant is the Head of Geography and History at Mayfield Secondary School in Caledon ON. A graduate of Queen’s University, he holds both a BAH and an MA in geography. For over 15 years, Paul has been on the executive of the Ontario Association for Geographic and Environmental Education serving in a number of capacities including four years as the association’s president. He currently sits as the Vice-President of Curriculum, and in this portfolio, has played a significant role in the ongoing review of the Canadian and World Studies curriculum. In 2006, Paul was awarded the Geographic Literacy Award by the Canadian Council for Geographic Education in recognition of his contributions to the development, enhancement and promotion of geographic education in Canada, and is also a member of the College of Fellows of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.
