Philip Bryden
Biography

Philip Bryden is a Professor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. He was Dean of Law at the University of Alberta from 2009-2014 and Dean of Law at the University of New Brunswick from 2004-2009. He was a member of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law from 1985-2004 and served as an Associate Dean from 1993-1996. Professor Bryden's research and teaching interests lie primarily in the field of administrative law, but he has also done work in the areas of judicial ethics, constitutional law, human rights law, and labour law. He is the author of numerous publications on these and related topics and is a frequent contributor to continuing education programs for judges, members of administrative tribunals, and lawyers. He has served on the boards of a number of voluntary organizations including the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice, the Council of Canadian Administrative Tribunals, the International Commission of Jurists (Canada), the Alberta Law Reform Institute, and the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association.
