Doug Cochran has been a lawyer in private practice since 1984. His areas of litigation include family law, criminal law, and civil litigation, primarily in the area of personal injury law. He also taught at Capilano University's Institute for Paralegal Studies for 19 years. He spent approximately six years as a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada conducting hearings in the Immigration Appeal Division. He currently holds an appointment to the Mental Health Review Board, in British Columbia, is a special appointee to the Ethics Committee of the Certified General Accounts of BC and is a board member for PLEA Community Services. Mr. Cochran wrote Interviewing Skills for Legal Professionals and co-authored Rules of Evidence: A Practical Approach for Emond Montgomery Publications.
