Jacqueline Asselin was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979 after completing her LL.B and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at the University of Ottawa. She opened her own law firm in Ottawa in 1979 and was initially engaged in a sole private practice. She later expanded her firm under the name J. Asselin & Associates. She remained with her firm until 2009, practicing in the areas of residential real estate, family law, and wills and estates. She started teaching full time at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ottawa in 2003 and now devotes her time to teaching in the Law Clerk and Paralegal programs. She currently teaches legal accounting, residential real estate and Estates Administration and Procedures. She has also taught property relationships, Introduction to Law, and landlord and tenant law. In 2013, Jacqueline was appointed by the Council for McNab/Braeside to the Committee of Adjustments, which hears severance and minor variation applications for the Township.
