Audrey Macklin
Biography

Audrey Macklin (BSc, LLB) is Professor of Law at the University of Toronto and Chair in human rights law. She teaches, researches, and writes in the areas of migration and citizenship law, gender and culture, and business and human rights. She recently published (with Penelope Simons) The Governance Gap: Extractive Industries, Human Rights, and the Home State Advantage (Routledge, 2014). She is co-author with Sharryn Aiken, Donald Galloway, and Colin Grey of Migration Law in Canada (Wolters Kluwer, 2013), and has published articles in many peer reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Refugee Law, the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal, Human Rights Quarterly, Theoretical Inquiries in Law, Columbia Journal of Law and Human Rights, European Journal of Law and Migration, Law and Social Politics, and International Migration Review. From 1994-96, Professor Macklin was a member of the Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board. She has represented human rights organizations as intervener in several migration and human rights cases before the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada.
