Amandeep Hayer
Amandeep Hayer graduated with a bachelor of arts from the University of Calgary, a juris doctor from the University of Windsor, and a juris doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy. He is the principal lawyer at Hayer Law, a boutique immigration law firm in Langley, British Columbia.
He has been practising exclusively in Canadian immigration and citizenship law since being called to the Alberta Bar in 2015. He was later called to the BC Bar and the Colorado State Bar. Prior to starting his own firm, Amandeep was employed at Moodys Tax Law, Deloitte LLP, and Sedai Law Office. His father, Dalwinder Hayer, is also an immigration lawyer and acted as his principal lawyer while articling.
Amandeep has been an active member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) since 2020, where he serves as an executive member of the CBA (BC) Immigration Law Section. He has appeared as an expert witness to the House of Commons Citizenship and Immigration Committee on behalf of the CBA. Amandeep has been regularly invited to speak on Canadian immigration and citizenship issues before the CBA, the Colorado Bar Association, educational institutions, and community groups.
Before attending law school, Amandeep worked as constituency assistant for two separate members of the Alberta legislature.
Amandeep is happily married to his wife, Aman Aulakh, and in his free time he enjoys puzzles and tinkering with technology, having built his own personal computer.
