Brian H. Greenspan
Brian H. Greenspan (B.A., LL.B., LL.M.) is one of the most prominent and well-regarded defence lawyers in Canada, and is the founding partner of Greenspan Humphrey Weinstein. Brian has been recognized in The International Who’s Who of Business Crime Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in Canada, and Chambers Canada. The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory recognized Brian as one of the most frequently recommended leading practitioners in Commercial and White Collar Crime, and he has been named three times as one of the 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
Brian taught at Osgoode Hall Law School and was a special lecturer in Criminal Law at the University of Toronto Law School. He was a member of the faculty of the Federation of Law Societies Criminal Law Program, the President of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association Ontario, and he founding Chair of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers. Brian Greenspan is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, and in 2002 was awarded the Douglas K. Laidlaw Medal for excellence in oral advocacy. He received the G. Arthur Martin Medal for contributions to criminal justice in 2010 and an honorary doctorate from the Law Society of Ontario in 2012. He is a past president of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association (Ontario) and the founding chair of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers.
