Gillian MacNeil
Gillian MacNeil is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law, where she teaches Public International Law and Constitutional Law and is the Faculty Advisor for the Jessup Team. Gillian earned her LLB from Dalhousie’s Faculty of Law (now the Schulich School of Law), her LLL from the University of Ottawa, her LLM from Cambridge, and her PhD from Queen’s University (Kingston). She has previously clerked at the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Her research interests include transnational criminal law, international criminal law, and international human rights law. Her book Legality Matters: Crimes Against Humanity and the Problems and Promise of the Prohibition on Other Inhumane Acts was published in 2021 by TMC Asser Press.
