Janna Promislow
Janna Promislow is an associate professor at the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Law where she teaches constitutional law, transsystemic administrative law, administrative law, and other public law courses. She was previously an associate professor at Thompson Rivers University, Faculty of Law. Before becoming a professor, she practised law with Davis & Company in the Northwest Territories and served as a policy advisor for the Government of Ontario on consultation with Indigenous communities. Her teaching and research interests encompass constitutional and administrative law, Aboriginal law, Indigenous law, colonial legal history, Indigenous–settler relations, and legal pluralism. She has published on the development of intersocietal law between Indigenous and European fur traders, treaty relationships and interpretation, and Aboriginal administrative law
