Danielle Murdoch
Danielle Murdoch is a senior lecturer in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University. She teaches undergraduate courses in corrections, introduction to and decision-making in criminal justice, women and justice, and the School’s Honours program. Her commitment to learning, unlearning, and relearning, and her approach to teaching that is characterized by care, connection, inclusivity, and diversity in content and assessments, has been recognized at the university and faculty level. She is a 2022 recipient of the SFU Excellence in Teaching Award and a 2019 winner of the SFU Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Cormack Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Murdoch is also a recipient of Teaching and Learning Development Grants aimed at investigating various aspects of teaching and learning practice (e.g., decolonizing criminology curricula, experiential learning, and TA mentorship). Her research focuses on correctional policy and practice and pedagogy.
