Dwight Newman
Dwight Newman, KC, is a professor of law and tier 1 Canada research chair in rights, communities, and constitutional law at the University of Saskatchewan. He was previously tier 2 Canada research chair in Indigenous rights in constitutional and international law, also at the University of Saskatchewan, from 2013 to 2023. He has been an academic visitor at many institutions, including Alberta, Cambridge, Oxford, Laval, McGill, Montréal, Princeton, and Toronto, and he has taught courses at Alberta, McGill, and in the Nunavut Law Program (Iqaluit). He has published in constitutional law, international law, Indigenous rights law, legal theory, and other areas, with over 200 publications of various types, including 15 books.
