Jasminka Kalajdzic

Jasminka Kalajdzic, BA (Ottawa), LLB, LLM (Toronto), is an associate professor of law at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, where she teaches courses on access to justice, evidence, and class actions, as well as a Law and Catastrophe seminar that she developed in 2012. Professor Kalajdzic has published one edited book and more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles on class actions, litigation finance, legal ethics, settlement, and evidence. A class actions text co-authored with Chief Justice Warren Winkler and Justice Paul Perell is currently in press, and a manuscript on access to justice and class actions is in progress. Professor Kalajdzic has spoken on related topics at more than a dozen scholarly conferences in Canada, the United States, and Europe, and has organized two international conferences, one on class actions and the other on commercial litigation funding. In 2011, she was appointed to a three-year term as a member of the Law Foundation of Ontario's Class Proceedings Committee, and in 2013 to the Law Commission of Ontario's Advisory Group for its Class Action Project. Prior to entering academia, Professor Kalajdzic practised civil litigation for 12 years, with a focus on class actions.
