Marty Gobin
Marty Gobin holds a Bachelor of Laws degree in English and Welsh law from the University of London, and a Master of Laws degree in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. From 2010 to 2015, Marty worked as the senior legal researcher for Kelly/Warner, PLLC, where he focused on international civil litigation under the supervision of American attorneys as well as Internet and privacy-related law, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property and defamation law. Subsequently, Marty became a licensed paralegal, and then a lawyer, in Ontario, where he focuses on civil litigation, criminal matters, and administrative law issues before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ministry of Labour, and various municipal committees. He is a former member of the Town of Whitby’s Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee, which made decisions in relation to private properties under the Ontario Heritage Act,and is very familiar with legal conflicts between property owners and municipalities. Marty teaches at George Brown College and is a partner at Gobin & Leyenson LLP, a law firm that focuses on criminal and quasi-criminal defence work, litigation before various administrative tribunals, and civil litigation.
