McKay White
Dr. R. McKay White is a native Edmontonian and has lived in the city for most of his life. He has a law degree from the University of Alberta, along with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), a Master of Arts in economics and finance, and a PhD in economics. During his education, he received several scholarships and awards, including a teaching award for the years he taught economics at the University of Alberta. At this time, he also started raising a family. Dr. White began practising law in the final stages of his doctorate program, with a particular interest in corporate litigation, competition law, and determination of damages. After several successful years, Dr. White left his full-time law practice to accept a professorship at MacEwan University’s School of Business, where he is assisting to develop and roll out a new major in legal studies. His research combines economic and legal analysis to achieve practical understanding of important issues. Currently, his research focus is legal solutions to financial abuse and related harms in matrimonial relationships. He provides pro bono legal services through the Edmonton Community Legal Centre.
