Rebecca Bromwich
Rebecca Jaremko Bromwich, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D., was, in 2015, the first-ever graduate of the Ph.D. program at Carleton University’s Department of Law and Legal Studies and she joined the Department’s full-time faculty immediately thereafter. Prior to taking on her academic role at Carleton, Rebecca practised law, working in a variety of roles – first with a large litigation firm, then in law reform and policy roles with the Canadian Bar Association, and then with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. More recently, she trained as a mediator and negotiator at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation. Rebecca’s research interests centre on equality, conflict resolution and criminal law. She continues to actively practise law, and since 2017 has served as a per diem Crown Attorney. In 2022 she joined the Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba.
