Nader Hasan

Nader Hasan practises criminal, regulatory, and constitutional law at the trial and appellate levels. He defends clients accused of criminal misconduct in a variety of cases, including white-collar crime, violent offences, drug offences, professional misconduct, and national security offences. He has expertise in digital privacy law and search and seizure law and has appeared in many of the leading cases in this area. Nader is a veteran adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he has taught a variety of courses in the areas of criminal and constitutional law. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the University’s David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights. He is a co-author of several books and the author of numerous articles on criminal and constitutional law. Nader is a graduate of Harvard University (BA), the University of Cambridge (MPhil), and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law ( JD). Upon graduation from law school, Nader clerked for the Honourable Marshall Rothstein of the Supreme Court of Canada.

In 2020, Canadian Lawyer listed Nader Hasan as one of the Top 25 Most Influential in the justice system and legal profession in Canada—specifically in the Human Rights, Advocacy and Criminal category. Click here to learn more.
