The Comprehensive Paralegal Exam Preparation Manual
The Ontario paralegal licensing exam is an open-book exam that consists of 160 multiple-choice questions. The exam is 4 hours and 30 minutes in length, and contains questions designed to assess a candidate’s competence in a variety of subject areas, including Canadian law, civil litigation, criminal/quasi-criminal law, administrative law, litigation process, ADR, practice management, and ethical and professional responsibility.
Candidates are expected to independently read and study LSO-issued reference materials to prepare for the exam, and may choose to create additional supporting materials such as indexes and summaries to supplement them.
As you begin preparing for the Ontario paralegal licensing exam, you will likely have many questions about how to study effectively, what types of reference materials and study aids you will need, and what to expect on exam day. The Comprehensive Paralegal Exam Preparation Manual was written to help answer these questions and walk you through the exam preparation process from start to finish.
